This sweet baby was 10 weeks in the making when his mama and I first spoke about documenting her birth experience at Atlanta Medical Center. It was such a privilege to be part of this family’s journey from the beginning, and I’m so grateful I was able to spend time with them during labor and delivery at AMC!
As a first time mom myself (before I became a birth photographer), I was personally very afraid of the birth process. In many ways, my own unnecessary fears leading up to my oldest’s birth give special meaning to my birth photography images. By showcasing the beauty in the birth process, I hope other moms can see how amazing it is and know that birth doesn’t have to include fear and trepidation.
In light of this, it brings me great joy when I meet first time moms who are excited and confident about their births! From the beginning, this mom knew wholeheartedly she was made for this and that birth photography was right for her. I’m so grateful she invited me to document her journey, and am so so proud of her calmness, confidence and strength through it all.
Surrounded by an incredible support team that included her husband, mother, midwife and some wonderful nurses, she achieved a peaceful, natural birth at Atlanta Medical Center.
It truly doesn’t feel like enough time has passed since our first conversation, but here we are, and I’m so thankful to share this beautiful birth story!
Welcome to the world sweet baby; you are so loved.
