First Birthday Cake Smash Photography | Woodstock, Georgia
Some babies just aren’t down with the cake smash. They aren’t too keen on squishing around in the icing and getting their hands or face dirty. Both of my older children were like that and had to be coaxed into touching their smash cakes. They also weren’t too upset when we took the cake away and cleaned them up.
But then there are babies who dive right in and don’t look back. They don’t wait around to blow out the candle and don’t stop squishing or smashing until you take the cake away; something about which they are none too pleased.
While it may be true that babies and cake always make for an adorable combination, the little ones that dive in with reckless abandon are the ones that make for the most fun cake smash pictures. There’s just something about those toothy grins on messy faces that light up a room.
I had the privilege of photographing one of the best cake smashes over the weekend, and it was nothing but fun! On her first birthday, Hazel couldn’t get enough of her smash cake, and her happiness brought such joy to her party and the crowd around her. Her laughter and giggles were a highlight of my day; I even ended up with a little icing on my camera lens!
Joy is what I feel when looking back on these photos, and I’m so excited to share some of that happiness with you too!
Happy birthday, Hazel! As my little boy would say, your cake smash session was epic!
